After watching Dr. Kory's presentation regarding Ivermectin in December 2020, I (naively) thought I could help by sending an email regarding Ivermectin for treatment and prophylaxis to ALL MPs, MPPS in Ontario and Dr. Theresa Tam. I got 1 reply from a Liberal MP in BC that basically went no where. BUT in January of 2021 I received an email from Dr. Njoo. Dr. Tam asked him to respond to me and in that email he says:

I am writing in response to your correspondence of December 5, 2020, addressed to Dr. Theresa Tam, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada, asking us to use Ivermectin both as a prophylaxis and as a treatment for COVID-19 as suggested by the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC). Dr. Tam has asked me to reply on her behalf.

Thank you for bringing Ivermectin to our attention. Please be assured the use of the drug to support Canada’s response to COVID-19 is being carefully considered.

Since the outset, the Public Health Agency of Canada, along with public health authorities at all levels of government across the country, have been working together to make appropriate and adaptable preparedness and response measures, based on the latest science and the evolving situation.

Health Canada is closely tracking all potential therapeutic treatments, vaccines, diagnostic tests, medical devices, and disinfectants currently available and in development in Canada and abroad.

Drugs, including vaccines, are regulated under the Food and Drugs Act and Regulations. They must meet the regulatory requirements for safety, efficacy and quality before they can be sold in Canada. Health Canada's regulatory process involves:

authorizing the use of a product in a clinical trial

reviewing data and evidence to provide a product market authorization and

monitoring and assessing the safety of a product once it is on the Canadian market

For medicines that show an early promise in treating COVID-19, the best way to offer them to Canadians is through clinical trials. Clinical trials provide a way for the healthcare community to systematically collect information on the effectiveness of the treatments and what the associated risks may be. Therefore, Health Canada encourages manufacturers to work with researchers so that these medicines can be offered to COVID-19 patients in the context of clinical trials.

For your information, a list of clinical trials approved to date for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19, as well as associated complications, can be found in Health Canada’s Clinical Trials Database (https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/drug-products/health-canada-clinical-trials-database.html). You can search this database by entering “COVID” in the medical condition box.

However, at this time, no Ivermectin manufacturer has made an application for this drug to be approved for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19. Therefore, the effectiveness of Ivermectin as a therapeutic option for COVID-19 has not been evaluated by Health Canada. The department is aware that such clinical trials may be planned or underway internationally.

I should add that healthcare practitioners may prescribe drugs, including Ivermectin, outside of their authorized indications (off-label use), based on other sources of information such as medical literature. Off-label use falls under the practice of medicine and is regulated at the provincial and territorial level.

While Health Canada regulates drugs, it is the responsibility of healthcare professionals to consider information from medical journals, reports, and peer-reviewed studies when prescribing medication.

I invite you to visit the Government of Canada’s website (www.canada.ca/coronavirus) and the website of your respective province or territory for the most up-to-date information and latest guidance. Links to provincial and territorial resources for COVID-19 can be found here: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/symptoms/provincial-territorial-resources-covid-19.html

Thank you again for alerting us to the use of Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19 as prescribed by the FLCCC.

Sincerely,

Dr. Howard Njoo

Deputy Chief Public Health Officer

Well all I can say is anecdotally IVM worked for me and I'd use it again. I felt like real crap to be bedridden when I got Delta despite being vaxed. I felt much better within hours after taking 18mg so I kept it going for a few days. One heck of a placebo then.

Scoops- you have to keep on this. File more FOI requests. We need to find out who sandbagged Ivermectin. Was it the health officials or the federal government? Where did the order come from?

Oh there is more, look at their tweet here.. and read the thread. Whatever happened to sotrovimab, a single-dose monoclonal antibody? They kind of lead us on a goose chase to an answer here in this thread: https://twitter.com/GovCanHealth/status/1436419319932542981
